A "Sweet" Victory for Everglades Restoration
Last week, Florida Governor Charlie Crist announced the purchase of 187,000 acres of land critical to the Everglades ecosystem from the country's largest sugar grower. This purchase will help to jumpstart the stalled $10-billion Everglades restoration project, marking a huge victory for wildlife!

New Report: Global Warming and the Great Lakes
The Great Lakes can lessen the impact of global warming or become global warming's victim--it all depends on Congress, according to a new report from the Healing Our Waters®-Great Lakes Coalition.

Legislation Update: The Farm Bill Flops
In late May, Congress passed the 2008 Farm Bill, legislation that includes programs which provide more than 40 million acres of wildlife habitat on America's farms and ranches. In the end, NWF opposed final passage of the new Farm Bill.
