Energy SavingsSeeing Stars, Saving Energy
ENERGY STAR estimates that it saves businesses, organizations and consumers about $19 billion in energy cost savings each year, and some colleges and universities are capturing these savings. 

Let the Light In: Sunlight, That Is

A new device collects daylight through clear, weatherproof domes, reflecting it around tubes to extend as much as 50 feet into a building. The tubes can save electricity and provide better, more natural light to classrooms.

Education for Action in the Age of Climate Change: Special Workshop
 
Bioneers ConferenceThis workshop on how higher education can lead restoration inside and outside the classroom takes place at the Bioneers 2009 conference. The session will feature speakers such as David Orr, leading environmental educator and Bioneers board member; Anthony Cortese, founder and President of Second Nature; and Julian Keniry, Senior Director of Campus and Community Leadership for the National Wildlife Federation. The pre-conference event takes place October 15, 2009.
