Massachusetts voters delivered a decisive win in yesterday's U.S. Senate special election for conservation champion Ed Markey, endorsed by the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund.
Andy Buchsbaum, interim executive director of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund, said today:
"More than any other Senate candidate in American history, Ed Markey ran on the need to confront climate change and invest in clean energy and voters delivered him a decisive win. Even with an out-of-state polluting energy heir pouring $1.5 million into trying to defeat him, Markey won by double digits."
"With President Obama unveiling his landmark climate action plan just yesterday, the timing couldn't be better to elect a true conservation champion to represent Massachusetts in the Senate, working to cut air pollution, create clean energy jobs through projects like Cape Wind, and using climate-smart strategies to protect the Bay State's natural resources."
