Texas Rivers' Need You!

A new public process is starting now that could end up benefiting Texas' rivers -- get involved!

Rivers need water. That should go without saying. But how much water does a river—and the wildlife that depends on that river—need? And how much water can we safely take out of a river for use in cities, on fields, and in factories?

A new state law passed earlier this year creates an open stakeholder process to begin to answer these critical questions. Ultimately, the state will use the outcome of the process to set legal limits on how much water should be left flowing in Texas' rivers, streams and coastal estuaries.
