Victory for Oceans Could Help Climate

A recent New York Times article suggests that a win for oceans in a recent lawsuit might open more doors for the federal government to curb global warming emissions.

On March 12, 2010, the New York Times reported that the EPA is now able to address a global-warming caused problem that affects our oceans under the authority of the Clean Water Act.

A side effect of global warming is ocean acidification, which threatens marine wildlife, particularly shellfish and coral reefs.

Some speculate this decision will open a new door for the federal goverment to protect America's wildlife and wild places from the harmful affects of global warming-- including the acidification of our waters.
