Result: Texas State Senator Glenn Hegar, chair of the state Sunset Advisory Commission, withdrew his suggestion on Thursday to abolish the state's Water Conservation Advisory Council, which assists and advises the Texas Water Development Board and other state agencies and public officials on efforts to advance water conservation throughout the state.

Comments: The Council is considered safe for now but careful monitoring will be necessary when Texas Legislature begins in January.
