NWF Action Fund Endorses Martin Heinrich for U.S. Senate

Champions Clean Energy, Conservation Policies for New Mexico Hunters & Anglers

The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund has endorsed Rep. Martin Heinrich in the New Mexico's U.S. Senate race. Rep. Heinrich has a long track record of strong support for clean energy solutions, safeguarding clean air and water, and preserving and opening access to public lands – three critical issues for sportsmen this election.

"In his years of public service, Martin Heinrich has earned the trust of hunters and anglers. We know he'll do the right thing to protect our wildlife and outdoor heritage," said Kent Salazar, lifelong New Mexico sportsman. "Martin Heinrich has given sportsman like myself a real voice in Congress. He has listened to our concerns and kept his promises to us, ensuring access to public lands. He's earned my vote."

Hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation pump nearly $4 billion into the New Mexico's economy every year and support 47,000 jobs.

"Martin Heinrich has a long track record of commitment to conservation and has been a leading pro-conservation voice within the Congressional Sportsman Caucus," said Sue Brown, executive director of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. "Martin Heinrich has consistently supported our right to fish, camp and hunt on New Mexico's spectacular public lands."

The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund endorsed Martin Heinrich for U.S. House of Representatives in 2008 and for re-election in 2010. Learn more about the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund at NWFActionFund.org.
