NWF Action Fund Endorses Rep. Dave Reichert for Re-Election
An Independent Voice for Environmental Protection
The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund has endorsed Rep. Dave Reichert for re-election in Washington's 8th Congressional district. Rep. Reichert has stood out in Congress as an independent voice for environmental protection.
"From Puget Sound to Mt. Rainier National Park, Dave Reichert can be counted on to protect Washington's clean water and public lands," said Sue Brown, executive director of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. "As someone who recognizes the impacts of climate change and the need to cut carbon pollution, we’re eager to work with Rep. Reichert and other pragmatic, conservation minded members to advance solutions that promote clean energy, local jobs, and a safer more sustainable future for our children."
As a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means, Representative Reichert has been a leader in advancing renewable energy as the lead author of the American Renewable Energy Production Tax Credit Extension Act of 2011. These works, coupled with his leadership on protecting and restoring the Puget Sound make Representative Reichert a conservation leader in the Republican Conference and have earned him the endorsement of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund.
Furthermore, a new poll of sportsmen shows threats to America's conservation heritage are priority issues for sportsmen and that Representative Reichert's conservation record is aligned with sportsmen voters . Conducted by Chesapeake Beach Consulting for the National Wildlife Federation, NWF Action Fund’s 501(c)3 sister organization, the poll illustrates concern by hunters and anglers on a range of conservation issues including Gulf clean-up, clean water protections, access to public lands, global warming solutions, and protecting America's outdoor heritage for our children's future.
