The Wildlife

The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund is working to further policy decisions that protect America's wildlife and wildlife habitats.

Click here to protect wildlife for future generations.

For nearly a century our sister organization, the National Wildlife Federation, has been committed to wildlife conservation. NWF and it's dedicated supporters helped bring America's wildlife symbol, the bald eagle, back from the brink of extinction and inspired millions of Americans to protect wildlife and wild places. However, there's still work to be done.

Now more than ever, wildlife and critical habitats are threatened by growth, pollution, and global warming. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, hundreds of species in North America are threatened or endangered.

Right now, you can ask your elected officials to protect wildlife habitats and make sure that wildlife populations continue to thrive across our nation for generations to come.

Ask Pres. Obama to Defend the Great Lakes Against Asian Carp
President Obama has been a champion of the Great Lakes and now we need his help more than ever. Urge the President to order the federal agencies to prevent Asian carp from entering the Great Lakes!
Protect Wild Salmon from Mining
Mining and salmon don't mix. Please ask the Obama Administration to protect our public lands and wildlife in Alaska's Bristol Bay watershed from large-scale mining operations.
Speak up for Funding to Help Wildlife
Right now your senators are drafting legislation to confront America's climate and energy challenges. Make sure this legislation will include funding to protect and restore America's wildlife and natural resources from the impacts of climate change.
Ask Your Representative to Be a Champion for Native Wildlife
Our country is being invaded by nonnative species and they're threatening our native ecosystems. Ask your representative to help pass legislation to prevent even more invaders from harming our native wildlife and wild places.
Help Pass America's Wildlife Heritage Act
Why wait until a wildlife species becomes endangered? Ask your representative to support wildlife management policies that take a proactive approach to safeguarding America's wildlife.
Help Protect Wyoming's Majestic Elk
Elk in Wyoming's Powder River Basin are threatened by plans for consumptive land use. Urge the Bureau of Land Management to protect this area from rushed coal bed methane gas development.
Speak Up for America's Polar Bears
Polar bears are in serious danger of going extinct. Their native habitat is melting, their food sources are disappearing, and the only way for us to save them is to halt the carbon emissions that cause global warming.
Take Action for Wild Salmon, Clean Energy, and Good Jobs
Urge the Obama Administration to resolve the conflict in the Columbia-Snake River basin, to restore wild salmon and steelhead to healthy fishable populations, to create jobs, keep communities prosperous, and promote a clean energy economy.
