Action Fund Launches Radio Ads in
Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri and Ohio

The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund launched radio ads in Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri and Ohio this week, encouraging sportsmen and women to call their U.S. senators in support of the historic Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act.

The ads imagine a duck hunting season without ducks and humorously offer hints on how to hunt without ducks. Listen below...

Leaders Make Case for Action on Clean Energy Jobs Legislation

As the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works kicks off hearings on the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act, leaders from communities on the frontlines of climate change impacts are on Capitol Hill, making their case for action on the bill.

The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund, together with a coalition of community groups including the NAACP, The National Hispanic Environmental Council and the National Tribal Environmental Council have partnered on an ad running in print publications on October 27th, 2009, urging action on groundbreaking clean energy jobs legislation being considered in the U.S. Senate.

The National Wildlife Federation Action fund and The Christian Coalition of America have partnered on an ad running in print publications asking the U.S. Senate to work together to put America on the path to energy security.

They would rather be hunting, but instead sportsmen and women from all over the country ventured to Capitol Hill to talk to their elected officials about much needed climate and energy legislation - legislation that will protect wildlife, habitats and our outdoor heritage for years to come.

The Action Fund and sportsmens organizations from across the nation sponsored an ad in Tuesday September 22nd's Politico higlighting these visits.


New Zogby Poll: 71% of Voters Support ACES

A recent Zogby Poll, commissioned by the National Wildlife Federation, shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans support strong climate and clean energy legislation.

The poll also shows that 51% believe the bill would create new green jobs, and that 54% hope that the Senate will act quickly to pass their own version of the bill

From all walks of life, Americans are in favor of legislation to cap global warming and transition to a clean energy future. Lawmakers might be most interested to know that 47% of voters would be impressed by a yes vote on upcoming climate legislation, compared to less than 30% who would feel disappointed.

U.S. House Passes Historic
Climate and Clean Energy Bill

On Friday, June 26, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 with a final vote of 219-212.

This plan is the most comprehensive legislation in history to address global warming and makes critical investments in clean energy solutions. Furthermore, the Act invests billions to help safeguard America's wildlife and natural resources for future generations.

This historic victory creates the momentum needed to ensure that strong climate and clean energy legislation is passed through the U.S. Senate in the months ahead and placed on the President's desk to be signed into law before the end of 2009.

In an ad running on Tuesday June 23, a coalition of sportsmen and women's groups asked Congress to safeguard our nation's natural resources by passing the American Clean Energy and Security Act.

  New Sportsmen's Ad Criticizes Reps. Ross and Matheson on Clean Energy Vote

Matheson AdIn a historic vote on Capitol Hill last week, the House Energy and Commerce Committee passed the American Clean Energy & Security Act.

Reps. Mike Ross and Jim Matheson voted against the bill that will slash our dependence on oil, put our economy back on track with millions of new clean energy jobs and dramatically cut the carbon pollution that causes global warming.

Ross AdA coalition of groups representing hunters and anglers had repeatedly asked Reps. Ross and Matheson to support the American Clean Energy and Security Act.

In response, the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund and local partners ran ads in papers in Utah and Arkansas, criticizing Reps. Ross and Matheson's decision to vote with special interests over those of America's sportsmen and women.

Arkansas Sportsmen and Women Urge Congress to Safeguard America's Natural Resources

Arkansans love the outdoors, and hunting and fishing are part of our heritage, but that precious heritage is at risk.

Global warming is harming Arkansas' natural places and wildlife. An ad by National Wildlife Federation Action Fund together with a coalition of hunters and anglers, calls on Congress to advance important climate and energy legislation, and asks Arkansas to call Cong. Mike Ross to voice their support.


Utah Sportsmen and Women Call on Congress to Safeguard Natural Resources

Utah Ad In an ad running in Tuesday, May 5th's Salt Lake Tribune, Utah sportsmen and women called on Congress to stand with them and protect the Beehive State's precious natural resources.

This is the message dozens of hunters and anglers from across the country delivered to thier Members of Congress in late April. 

America's hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts are already seeing the negative effects of warming temperatures on our country's wildlife and wild places in their day to day lives. From shorter and warmer winters, shrinking wetlands and changes in wildlife migration patterns--global warming continues to impact America's great outdoor traditions.

That's why hundreds of national hunting and fishing groups are calling on Congress to take swift action in 2009 by passing strong climate and energy legislation that caps carbon pollution and invests in the clean energy technologies that will protect America's wildlife and natural resources.
