Issues
Every day, elected officials make decisions that affect wildlife.
NWF Action Fund™ works to highlight those choices for voters who value conservation. NWF Action Fund helps Americans hold their elected officials accountable for their positions.
NWF Action Fund's Main Priorities:
- Confronting Global Warming
- Protecting and Restoring Wildlife Habitat
- Connecting People with Nature
NWF Action Fund focuses on these issues and more:
Global Warming
In just one century, the earth's temperature has risen by about 1 degree Fahrenheit, and is expected to rise by another 2-10 degrees Fahrenheit by 2100. As temperatures increase, it is directly affecting fish and wildlife, as well as the habitats upon which they depend.
Public Lands
One-third of the U.S.--more than 700 million acres--is held as public land, owned by all citizens. These lands--our national forests, parks, wildlife refuges, monuments, wilderness areas and rangelands--are a uniquely American legacy. Wildlife need big spaces, and people enjoy them too, spending billions of dollars hunting, fishing and watching wildlife.
Wetlands
Protecting America's waters--from the smallest of underground channels to the largest lakes and streams--is essential to protecting wildlife.
Endangered Species
Since 1973, the Endangered Species Act has saved 99 percent of listed species from extinction. It has successfully recovered bald eagles, Yellowstone grizzly bears, gray wolves and whooping cranes to name but a few. However, this important wildlife conservation law has come under constant assault. | |

Targetglobalwarming.org
