Make Sure Your Representative Helps Historic Public Lands Protections Become Law
On March 11, 2009, the U.S. House failed to pass the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act, which secures wilderness designation for more than two million acres in nine states, protects over a thousand miles of rushing rivers and provides permanent protection for the 26-million acre National Landscape Conservation System.
Despite the failed outcome of last week's vote, in the coming days the U.S. House will have another opportunity to pass these historic protections.
Find out how your representative voted on this landmark legislation and then send him/her a message of encouragement to help ensure these historic protections finally become law.
