Stop the Destruction of Monarch Butterfly Habitat

Growing corn for ethanol has already caused the destruction of huge swaths of prairie grassland habitat that vulnerable monarchs depend on for survival. As currently written, the law calls for increasing amounts of biofuels made from soybeans and other crops, threatening even more habitat loss.

We cannot let this happen. Congress has an opportunity this year to change the law to protect and restore grassland and other wildlife habitat—while continuing to benefit farmers and the agriculture economy. But your members need to hear you want changes that will help the monarch, or they may not act.

If you care about bringing back a vanishing North American wildlife species, add your voice calling for a stop to the destruction of our scarce, remaining grasslands.
