Stop Congress from making it nearly impossible to establish new protections for clean air, clean water, and wildlife like the Rusty-patched bumblebee. The Regulatory Accountability Act (RAA) would make it next to impossible for federal agencies that are entrusted with protecting our health, safety, and environment to devise new safeguards, even if required by law. For example, if the RAA were passed, it could impact:

  • The listing and delisting of threatened and endangered species under the Endangered Species Act, such as the recently listed Rusty-patched bumblebee.
  • Clean Water Act safeguards that ensure safe water quality in lakes, streams, and rivers, and drinking water systems in cities like Flint, Michigan.
  • Clean Air Act safeguards that protect public health and welfare by regulating emissions of harmful air pollutants like lead, ozone, and particulate matter.
  • The regulation of manufactured and imported chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act, making it impossible for the public to know which chemicals have potential environmental or health impacts.

Ask your Senators to take action today to protect clean air, clean water, and wildlife. National safeguards are needed to stop pollution and other threats. Say NO to the Regulatory Accountability Act!
