The Department of the Interior has recommended that President Trump shrink safeguards across millions of acres of our wild national monuments—some of our most pristine wild places—to allow for activities like coal mining, unwise logging, and commercial fishing.

Utah’s Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante, Nevada’s Gold Butte, and Oregon’s Cascade-Siskiyou could be shrunk by millions of acres—possibly to a fraction of their original size if President Trump accepts the recommendations. Protected waters wouldn’t be spared either: the Pacific Remote Islands that help safeguard endangered seabirds and other key species, including five endangered sea turtle species, and Rose Atoll also stand to be cut down considerably.

Please sign the petition urging President Trump to reject any and all recommendations that would shrink Monument boundaries or allow additional mining, drilling, or commercial fishing beyond what is already allowed under the law.
