Over the past five decades, a program called the Land and Water Conservation Fund protected and supported more than 40,000 state and local parks and over two million acres of wild lands that nurture and sustain hundreds of our most treasured species.

The program works in partnership with federal, state and local efforts to protect land in our national parks, national wildlife refuges, national forests, national trails, and other public lands; to preserve working forests and ranchlands; to support state and local parks and playgrounds; and to help communities make it easier for everyone to enjoy outdoor recreation.

But the Land and Water Conservation Fund expired in September. Tell your members of Congress to support permanent reauthorization and full funding for the Land & Water Conservation Fund.
